JULY 22, 1994, MAPLEGATE, ON

At first reported as a structural collapse, what has been referred to as the "Maplegate Sinkhole" opened approximately 21:49 on July 22nd, 1994. The county sent engineers, who claimed it to be an old mineshaft finally giving in. The reality of the situation, as you and I both know, was something we could've never anticipated. Our first research team reported the walls shifting under their lights, damp and fibrous, like insulation soaked through with something smelling of rust. They said the air down there was warm, like it was breathing. Residents began to complain of low, wet sounds beneath their floorboards, dogs would refuse to leave the house, locals reported the taste of iron on their tongues whenever they were in its vicinity. I'm logging these accounts to ensure this does not go unnoticed. I can't guarantee what will happen to me if this gets out, but I'm hoping this log will at least help in bringing the truth about what happened in Maplegate. And what happened to Timothy Hudson.

We recovered several items from the scene, including a shattered VHS tape and a series of audio recordings. Many believe the events were caused by Project Heartland, though the government denies its existence.
